At Universal Home Protection, (hereinafter UHP, We, Our or Us) we are committed to protecting your privacy. When you request products or services from UHP, we need to collect personal information from you in order to administer our business accurately and efficiently. In doing so, we want you to know how we use that personal information and also how we protect it.

Types of Information and How We Collect It

UHP obtains your information from applications, closing statements and other documents related to your contract with UHP, as well as via the telephone and internet when you contact us for service or other issues. The information we collect includes your first and last name, home or other physical address, city, state, zip code, email address and telephone numbers. If you choose to purchase or renew your warranty by providing us with a credit or debit card, that information is destroyed immediately after the charge is processed.

Use of Information

UHP provides only necessary contact information to our service contractors so they are able to provide service to you under the specifications of the Warranty Terms And Conditions. These companies
are required to abide by the same restrictions and provisions regarding confidentiality as required by law that prohibit using the information outside the performance of the specific services on your behalf. However, please note that UHP is not responsible for the privacy policies of those companies. We do not sell, rent, or disclose personal information or mailing lists or any other information obtained by us to any nonaffiliated companies.

How UHP Protects Your Information

Upon entering your personal information into our secure computer database system utilizing https network data encryption, we retain an electronic copy for our personal records and destroy the original paperwork. All personal information is restricted to those internal employees who need access to it to provide services as described in the Warranty Terms And Conditions. In addition, we have
electronic, physical, and procedural safeguards in place which are designed to protect your personal information from improper access. While we take necessary precautions to protect your personal information from unauthorized access and/or disclosure, we cannot guarantee or ensure the security of the information you transmit to us, and therefore, we recommend that you take all necessary precautions to
protect your personal data when you are on the internet. All physical documentation is shredded after processing by a professional outside contractor who provides us with a certificate of destruction. If you choose to purchase or renew your warranty with a credit or debit card, that information is destroyed immediately after the charge is processed.

Former Customers

For those customers who no longer have an active home warranty plan with us, our Privacy Policy will continue to be applicable to you.
