Most people think that these home warranty policies are just for the protection of a buyer for the first year after a home purchase. We have renewed the policies for our home and our rental properties annually because it provides us with protection from sudden major expenses. It is also nice to have a contact who is familiar with our properties and any past problems we’ve had so that there is some ‘continuity of care.’ When one of our tenants calls in the middle of the night to say that their heat is not working, we make only one call to UHP and we know that the problem will be taken care of promptly. We’ve depended on UHP for years.
Universal Home Protection is an impressive organization. I have dealt with many home warranty companies over the years and as a contractor, I am in a unique position to observe how they operate. In my opinion, UHP is the only home warranty company that provides not only comprehensive coverage, but deals with both homeowners and vendors in an ethical and responsible manner. I could not be more pleased to be associated with UHP.
I couldn’t ask for more out of my UHP home warranty. I had a few unexpected problems while my home was for sale, which led to UHP replacing my furnace and my water softener. I am so glad I included the home warranty with the sale of my home. Not only did I benefit from the coverage, but my buyers were also covered for a year after the closing. UHP really kept me worry free during that busy, hectic time.
Selling and buying a home is a stressful enough event in one’s life, and the security of knowing that UHP is there to help in a professional, fast and high quality manner is such a relief. I’m very grateful that UHP treats others as they would themselves, and values high quality contractors. I will definitely be looking to renew my warranty once the current one expires.
I love this warranty. It is the best one out there.
I’m surprised, astonished, and simply amazed UHP actually covers what they say they cover. When our furnace stopped heating, I called UHP fully expecting them to weasel their way out of their responsibility. Because it was very cold outside, they said they would send a technician as soon as possible. Someone from a local company here in La Crosse arrived within an hour. The technician replaced the gas valve, but when he turned the furnace on he noticed it was leaking carbon monoxide and said the furnace needed a new heat exchanger. I didn’t know what that was, but it sounded expensive. He said he had to call UHP and I would hear from someone shortly. About 20 minutes later I got a call from UHP sure they were going to say it wasn’t going to be covered. Instead they said they would pay to repair the furnace or I could take a credit for the cost of the repairs. We decided to take a credit, and we got a brand new furnace installed the next day.Thank you, UHP for being a kind, honest, and respectable company. Your staff cares about people and everyone should know how outstanding you are!
Murphy’s Law - within 30 days of closing your water heater is going to go. No lie. Universal Home Protection to the rescue once again.
I gave UHP a call and someone was out to repair it the next day. They gave me the option to have my current fridge fixed or gave me credit towards a new one. I chose to buy new and they reimbursed me within a week and a half. Great company. Would highly recommend!!
Woke up to a cold house, thermostat was set at 78 furnace would not heat the house over 59. called Universal Home they sent a fellow out to look at it he said it needed too may parts so they put in a NEW furnace at no charge other than my deductable. I am warm as toast now thanks to Universal Home.
I have used this company several times for several repairs and each one has been handled efficiently and effectively.
You guys are the BEST!!! I can’t tell you how many other companies we have had zero success with. But, not you; you and your team are always responsive and always quick to help. It’s so nice to work with people who really care.
I’m really impressed with UHP and would definitely recommend them to friends. We appreciate the assistance and UHP was a big help!
UHP was very prompt in handling the claim for my water heater. They sent out a plumber the same day I called and the contractor found that the water heater couldn’t be fixed. My water heater was replaced and all I had to pay was my deductible. Thanks UHP!
Solid, stable and trustworthy are just a few words that come to mind when describing Universal Home Protection. They are everything that a home warranty should be. I have had the good fortune of not only being a contractor, but a client as well. I am proud to call them our customer.
No home should be sold without one. Seller, buyer and agent all win. It is becoming an industry standard to provide a warranty and UHP sets the bar, so why not go with the best? No more calls from angry buyers because their furnace breaks down or they have no hot water. They’rrrre Grrrrrreeeeeaaaatttt!
Our experience with UHP has always been first rate. They handle both claims and approvals promptly. UHP provides fast quality service to both their customers and servicing contractors. We are pleased to be providing service for UHP customers
Called them about a leaking water heater at 8:00 AM and there is now a brand new heater installed before noon! The representative that I spoke with was polite and efficient. My cost for this $800 job was the $85 deductible and $20 for a city permit. Couldn’t be happier!
Thank you for your great customer service! It is VERY appreciated!!!
Woke up New Years Day and the furnace was out. I couldn’t figured it out so I called UHP. I left a message and got a call back within an hour. The person was very helpful and had a repairman out to the house in 30 min. The guy fixed it in a half hour. I wrote the repairman a check for $85 and that was it. Just to have an HVAC serviceman come on a holiday is at least $120 to ring your doorbell. Excellent service
Universal Home Protection is the best home warranty program I have experienced. I would highly recommend Realtors® to sell their warranty.
A week after we moved in our furnace started leaking water. We contacted UHP and they had a contractor out the same day. He replaced a drain pan and coil for the air conditioner and we only paid our deductible. Then just a week later we noticed another leak, and this time it was our water softener. We called UHP again, and they told us how to turn the softener off and had a contractor out the next day. When my husband and I got home from work our water softener was replaced. Without UHP, we would’ve had to pay thousands of dollars that we didn’t have within the first month of owning our very first home. I will never own a home without a UHP warranty!
